ลินุกซ์ (Linux) และรู้จักในชื่อ กนู/ลินุกซ์ (GNU/Linux)คือระบบปฏิบัติการที่นิยมตัวหนึ่งในฐานะซอฟต์แวร์เสรี และซอฟต์แวร์โอเพนซอร์ส ลินุกซ์มีลักษณะคล้ายระบบปฏิบัติการยูนิกซ์ โดยมีลินุกซ์ เคอร์เนล เป็นศูนย์กลางทำงานร่วมกับไลบรารีและเครื่องมืออื่น ลินุกซ์นิยมจำหน่ายหรือแจกฟรีในลักษณะเป็นแพคเกจ โดยผู้จัดทำจะรวมซอฟต์แวร์สำหรับใช้งานในด้านอื่นเป็นชุดเข้าด้วยกัน
เริ่มแรกของของลินุกซ์พัฒนาและใช้งานในเฉพาะกลุ่มผู้ที่สนใจ ซึ่งในปัจจุบันลินุกซ์ได้รับความนิยมเนื่องมาจากระบบการทำงานที่เป็นอิสระ ปลอดภัย เชื่อถือได้ และราคาต่ำ จึงได้มีการพัฒนาจากองค์กรต่างๆ .......อ่านต่อ

Desktop Effect พัฒนาการอีกขั้นของ Linux
เป็นเวลานานมากแล้ว ที่ภาพของ Linux ที่เป็นหน้าจอดำๆ มีตัวหนังสือเต็มไปหมด และสั่งงานผ่านคีย์บอร์ดเท่านั้นติดตาของผู้ใช้คอมพิวเตอร์มานาน แม้ว่าทุกวันนี้ Linux จะมีระบบกราฟิกให้ใช้งานได้แล้วก็ตาม แต่คนที่จะใช้งาน Linux ก็ยังคงน้อยอยู่มากๆ ด้วยเหตุผลนานับประการ ซึ่งเหตุผลหนึ่งที่ได้ยินอยู่บ่อยๆคือ มันไม่สวย ซึ่งถ้าเป็นเมื่อก่อนแล้วก็อาจจะจริง แต่ถ้าเป็นปัจจุบันนี้ผมคงต้องเถียง เพราะนี้ Linux มี Effect ในการแสดงผลที่เป็นลูกเล่นสวยงามแล้ว ซึ่งเรียกว่า Desktop Effect....... อ่านต่อ
